Abstract (EN)
This study aims to examine the opinions of faculty members working in the field of zither education at state conservatories in Turkey through qualitative research methods. In this context, the current situation of kanun courses in conservatories will be described and evaluated with the perspectives and experiences of the faculty members. The research aims to provide important data to control and evaluate formal education in the field of Turkish music education. The focus of the study is to explain the current situation of kanun education in conservatories, determined by survey studies conducted within the framework of the descriptive research model. The study group consists of permanent kanun faculty members (N=14) working at state conservatories in Turkey. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using the frequency analysis method. This study aims to contribute to the creation of program goals for the future by evaluating the current situation of kanun education in the field of Turkish music.
