Abstract (EN)

In this thesis study, the contents and methods of the Vocal Training and Voice Technique courses offered in the Turkish Art Music Department at Afyon Kocatepe University State Conservatory have been examined. The historical development of vocal training and voice techniques has been addressed with a focus on the example of Afyon Kocatepe University. While the vocal training course has a deep-rooted history, the voice technique course is considered a relatively new concept professionally. The study aims to examine the contents, curricula, methods, and practices of the Vocal Training and Voice Technique courses. These courses are significant in enhancing students' solo performance abilities, improving their vocal skills, and positively contributing to the traditional Turkish music singing style. Additionally, the provision of these courses within an eight-semester structure, allowing for a gradual development of students' vocal skills, provides a comprehensive learning process. The research has been conducted using the descriptive survey model, based on literature review and interviews with field experts. The findings of the study aim to offer significant contributions to students studying music education as well as professionals working in thisfield.
