State authority and metaverse

The state is structurised by the impact of social, political, strategic events or geopolitical conditions which is occuring around it. In this approch, the state is a factual entity open to change and transformation. It is essential to examine the state phenomenon, in terms of its theoretical and practical aspects, within the own conditions of each period.In this context, the modern state, which was shaped by the Treaties of Westphalia in 1648 and continues to exist today, has also undergone various transformations throughout in the historical process.The modern state was limited to a certain extent by the effect of globalization in the 20th century, but it continued to play its role as a legal actor providing social order and justice to a certain extent.By digitalization, a new process has been developing that shakes and destroys this role of the modern state. One of the stops that digitalization aims to reach in this process which is Metaverse.Metaverse has not yet completed its development and it is a concept related to the future. Metaverse aims to offer individuals the opportunities and facilities offered by social media sites, cryptocurrencies and online gaming platforms, together by advanced technological arguments.The fact that the metaverse is a concept about the future makes it difficult to concretize its possible impact on the sovereignty apparatuses of the modern state. In addition to this, the current impact of the concepts considered as its sub-elements on modern states provides some clues about the possible limiting and transformative role of the Metaverse in the future. Metaverse, in its different aspects, is shaped as the future appearance of the destructive movement aimed at eliminating state authority. In this study, the authority-destroying effects of the modern state's sovereign powers through the Metaverse in the digitalizing world are discussed.
