Abstract (EN)
Expressionist effects have always existed since the beginning of art.First it was used to internalize, dominate, and defeat the outer world with primitive art. These people expressed the aesthetic and mystic values in their works with intuition. They reflected in their works their pure emotions and enthusiasms. In this context, primitive art is characterized, in its nature, with abstractive, symbolic and expressive features. While in the Renaissance, when the art began in the literal sense, a realistic understanding of space, nature and figure was the case, without having a Renaissance tendency Mathis Grünewald had an inclination towards deformation in form for the first time. In the following periods, unlike the artistic trend they were in, such artists as El Greco, Goya, van Gogh and Fovist artists tended to use deformation in the form. In addition to this, Expressionism strictly distinguished itself from the previous artistic trends and overtly rejected traditional artistic trends, advocating that real art can be done only by internalizing and expressing the outer reflections. Therefore they used the deformation and color for this purpose. This study analyzed the Die Brucke and Der Blaue Reiter art groups included in the Expressionist art trend and the color and form features reflecting the expressionist aspects in their paintings. The population of the study is the expressionist trend in the modern art. The sample of the study consists of five artists VII selected from among Die Brücke and Der Blaue Reiter artists (totally ten artists) and one painting from each artist as a product of this trend (totally ten paintings).Further in this chapter, selected artists approaches to painting were mentioned.Furthermore, information about the names, production date, original size, painting technique used, and current place of the paintings selected for this study were given.Examination of one of paintings based on the color and form was done under themonitor of the supervisor of the researcher and the rest were done following this sample analysis.KEYWORDS: Expressionism, Di Brücke, Der Blaue Raiter, Color, Form
