Abstract (EN)

Artificial intelligence is one of the latest benefits of technology and digitalization. The applicability of artificial intelligence in different disciplines also reveals the problematic side of the concept in terms of ethical and social perspectives. The purpose of this study is to examine the stages of artificial intelligence during the process from ancient times to the present, the artificial intelligence and the concepts of artificial intelligence, the ethical dimensions of artificial intelligence with theoretical studies, and by explaining how artificial intelligence and human relations are described in the selected science fiction series and in which positions artificial intelligence is depicted, the aim is to reveal that these descriptions coincide with the developments in the field of artificial intelligence. The series, which were examined with the method of semiotic analysis in the study, consist of 6 series that contain a concrete artificial intelligence in the science fiction genre from the Netflix special content list. These series are Altered Carbon, Another Life, Better Than Us, Black Mirror, My Holo Love and Star Trek Discovery. As a result of the analysis, it has been concluded that the research questions are the data attained has responded to the research questions, and artificial intelligence is positioned as an alternative to human beings, and also the artificial intelligence depictions in these series are realized nowadays or studies have been carried out today to enable the appearance of artificial intelligence.
