Abstract (EN)
All performances created in the performing arts may now reach bigger audiences thanks to technological advancements and the boundaries of information technology. Every stand-up comedy stage show reproduces material, and due to the advent of digitalization, stand-up comedy stage shows have started to merge onto social media platforms, referred to as new media. With the ease of access to the materials provided by convergent tools, the new media scene has the potential to directly affect the content over time. In the context of stand-up comedy performances, the gathering of material, the progression of a persona, the writing of the sets, the staging, and the branding of the artist, along with the addition of the new media-independent variable as a result of digitalization, led to the formation of a new mode of expression and the emergence of new tools for disseminating the content to the audience. The study's objective is to compile the changes brought about by new media tools in stand-up comedy performances in the digital era, the re-editing of the set after its broadcast on digital platforms, and how it affects the rhythm, from the viewpoints of the audience and the performers. Furthermore, by discussing how media tools are changing as a result of digitalization, it will be possible to assess how far technology has gone as well as its stance in relation to stand-up comedy performances. The study employed a mixed-method research approach as both qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques were used to complete the study. How the digital era changed stand-up comedians' performances were investigated through in-depth interviews. Through the instances that have resulted from this, conclusions on the relationship between new media communication forms and stand-up comedy performances have been formed. Moreover, under the parameters of the study: Information on stand-up comedy acts performed live on stage and broadcast digitally was gathered through an audience survey in order to show the audience's perspective.
