Abstract (EN)
Faster and more efficient cooling of electronic equipment is very important. Because the efficiency and power of these equipment depend on the operating temperature. Working at high temperatures causes poor performance and system malfunctions. Cooling of these systems is carried out by active and passive heat transfer methods. While active methods require external power, passive methods do not require external power. When designing efficient active cooling systems, it is necessary to establish a relationship between flow and fin geometry parameters to maximize heat transfer for minimum fan power and minimum heatsink size. In cases where fast and efficient cooling is desired, forced convection cooling, which is an active method in heat pits used to cool these equipment, is common. Heat transfer in different fin geometries such as circular, square and rectangular is a subject that has been studied in detail. In recent years, rectangular- section winglets have become the most preferred wing profiles due to their ease of production, low cost and high efficiency. In this study, the thermal performances of rectangular cross- section fins were examined under forced convection conditions and low Reynolds numbers. Low Reynolds numbers have been shown to be a typical feature of many industrial applications, so operation at low Reynolds numbers is targeted. Analyzes were made for hydraulically and thermally fully developed flow conditions. In this context, analyzes were carried out at different Reynolds numbers by changing the number of wings and wing height so that the wing heat transfer surface area was kept constant while the wing lengths were kept constant.
