The usage of science concepts and topics in education of religion

The purpose of this study is to determine the contribution of the science concepts and topics used in religion subjects and science to religion subject itself. In this study, there was conducted a poll for secondary school students and a semi-structered interwiev for Religion Teachers via survey method. This survey was carried out with 500 secondary school students that consist of 7th grade and 8th grade students in 2015-2016 academic year and 5 Religion Teachers who worked in the school in 2015-2016 academic year. In this study, a DDFBK pool with 17 objects 13 of which were closed-ending and 4 of which were open-ending questions was conducted on secondary school 7th grade and 8th grade students and a semi-structured interview was carried out on 5 Religion Teachers. This pool and semi-structured interview forms were carried out in the aim of detecting the notions of students and teachers on defining the contribution of science to the education of religion besides the concepts and topics of science that are used in Religion lessons. In the conclusion of this research, it is observed that religion teachers used science concepts and topics in their lessons, they saw a positive impact of science on a better comprehension of students while they were studying, moreover, students asked questions about science in Religion lessons and the topics of science that they made a connection with religion were " The Creation of Humanbeings, The Systems of Our Body, Natural Phenomenon, Seasons, Snow, Hail Fall, Rain, The System of Sun, Benefits of Plant, Environment, Animals, Substance, Element, The Formation of Water, The Order of it, The Lifting Power, Globalization, Giving Blood, Donation of Organs, Planets, Hygiene, The Benefits of Praying, and fasting". Furthermore, it was concluded that students found Religion Teacher's getting benefit from the science concepts and topics positive.
