Opinions of religious officials regarding the role of women in turkish religious music (Sample of Afyonkarahi̇sar)

Music thought to play an effective role in human life is seen as a form of art that should be investigated linked to demonstrate the interaction with each field. The notion of religion is also seen as a subject of worth investigating because it determines human social life, culture and faith. This research is important putting forth evaluation of religious officials' opinions according to demographic characteristics on women and music perception. This is a descriptive study which is restricted with religious officials working at Afyonkarahisar religious institution and experts who are volunteer for interview and qualitative and quantitative methods were used based on survey model. As a result of this study data arranged according to sub-problems were processed, commented opinions vary according to the religion officials' demographic characteristics and suggestions were made. It is considered that the study will contribute to the field of research and lead new researchs. Key Words: Music, Turkish Religious Music, Women.
