Realization status of religious culture and ethics course vision according to student opinions

This study aims to understand "Realization Status of Religious Culture and Ethics Course Vision According to Student Opinions." Relevant to this title, the course vision is "to bring up individuals that realize the role of religion in meaning of life, who adopts national, spiritual and moral values, who are also able to live with differences in the society." Problem definition of this work is to study "What is the realization status of the Religious Culture and Ethics Course (DKAB) vision from the students' perspective? In addition, how do high school students perceive realization of the DKAB course vision? What is the reflection of the DKAB course vision on the behavior of high school students?" Purpose of the study aims to understand the realization status of the DKAB course vision according to students' opinions. The method of the study aims to understand the religious education behaviors of high school students within the framework of their own opinions. In line with this framework, a single case study design has been applied, because it is one of the qualitative case study research methods frequently used in educational research. In this study, interviews have been conducted with 12th grade students from different school types, taking into account the criterion of completing the high school DKAB program. Considering the diversity of the sample, semi-structured qualitative interview method has been applied to thirty participants from seven high schools in Eskişehir, including two Social Sciences High Schools, one Science High School, and Four Anatolian High Schools. Based on the results from the interviews, it has been understood that the participants generally showed cognitive, affective and behavioral characteristics that were largely compatible with the DKAB curriculums vision expectations.
