Abstract (EN)
Seyyid Ahmet Arvasi, who left a significant mark on the Turkish intellectual world during the Republican era, was a thinker who influenced not only individual beliefs but also various structures of society. Focusing deeply on the fundamental political, social, and cultural issues of his time, Arvasi developed various solutions. His works, newspaper articles, and lectures reached a wide audience, leaving a lasting impact on the intellectual fabric of Turkish society. Arvasi's thoughts on religion, politics, women, and education reflect a balanced approach that addresses society as a whole. In his view, religion is rooted in the belief in monotheism, possesses a Sufi depth, and is free of heresies and superstitions. Political understanding, on the other hand, should be based on national and spiritual values; the state and nation are founded on faith and culture. While his views on women may be traditional, they also possess a liberal understanding. He evaluates and positions women's place in social life within an Islamic framework. Regarding education, he emphasizes that individuals should be equipped not only with knowledge but also with the fundamental concepts of morality, culture, faith, tradition, and nationalism that support this knowledge. Therefore, Arvasi's ideas both contribute to an understanding of the deep-rooted values of the past and contribute to today's intellectual landscape. The research examines Arvasi's thought system with a systematic approach. While the main focus is on religion, politics, women, and education, his views on national identity, the preservation of cultural values, social solidarity, and modernization processes are also emphasized. Within this framework, Arvasi's intellectual legacy is analyzed and evaluated.
