A study on the comparison of children living in city and village in terms of faith development (Kastamonu sample)

It is importanttoapproachfaith as an area of developmentlikecognitive, physical, socialand moral development. Thisstudydealswiththefaithdevelopment of childrenwholive in villagesandcities, andthedifferencesbetweenthesechildren in termsofsomevariablessuch as class, age, gender, parenteducational background andincome. Inthisstudy, of which main theme is faith, information has beengivenaboutfaithandadolescenceperiod. Inadditiontotheoreticalinformation, fieldresearchwasconducted in thisstudyand "Faith Development Inventory" wasappliedtosixth, seventhandeighthgradestudents. SPSS wasused in theanalysis of thedata. Accordingtothefindings of thestudy, therearenotsignificantdifferencesbetweenthechildrenwholives in villagesandcities in terms of faith in Allah, Angels, HolyBooksandProphets. Thereare not alsosignificantdifferencesbetweenreligiousinformationlevels of thesechildren. Thecomparison of religiousinformation of studentsrevealthateighthgradestudentsaremeaningfullydifferentfromsixthandseventhgradesandthestudentsaged 14 aremeaningfullydifferentfromthestudentsaged 13, 12 and 11. Moreover, gender, parenteducationalbackgroundandincomelevel do not have a meaningfuleffect on religiousinformationlevel.
