Examination of the relationship between religious origination forms, Enneragram personality types and Enneragram-based religious personality typologies

The concept of personality, which is defined as a set of consistent and structured characteristics that distinguishes an individual from others, has been the subject of the Psychology of Religion for many years. It has been observed that studies on personality dimensions have increased recently and the relationship between them and various variables has been examined. The aim of this study is to reveal the relationship between Enneagram personality types and religious orientation styles. In addition, the Enneagram-based religious personality typologies has been tried to be developed by making use of the Enneagram model, which does not reject spirituality. In addition, according to demographic variables (gender, high school type, type of faculty, socioeconomic status, settlement, birth order and perception of subjective religiosity) whether there is a relationship or differentiation between the main variables of the research (personality types, religious personality types, religious orientation styles) is to examine. The research population consists of undergraduate students studying at Kastamonu University. The sample of the research consists of 304 people. In the study, the Nil Enneagram Personality Test developed by Demir et al. was used to determine the personality types of the participants. In addition, the Reconstructed Muslim Religious Orientation Scale developed by Ercan, which is the revised version of the Muslim Religious Orientation Scale, was used to determine the religious orientation of the participants. In addition, Enneagram-Based Religious Personality Typologies Test prepared by the researcher using the Enneagram personality model was used to determine the religious personality types of the participants. As a result of the research, a weak relationship was found between Enneagram personality types and religious personality typologies, and no relationship was found with religious orientation styles. Positive and significant relationships were found between religious personality typologies and religious orientation styles. In addition, Enneagram personality types, religious personality typologies and religious orientation styles show statistically significant differences according to various demographic variables.
