Abstract (EN)

Ottoman Miniature Art is a cultural heritage that still exists today. These works of art, which are an important element of miniature art, depict the lifestyle and cultural texture of the Ottoman period with narratives supported by pictures in order to transfer them to future generations. The art of diorama is the art of creating small or large-sized models of a moment or historical events of the past, film scenes that are similar to the real ones. Miniature art and diorama art are similar to each other as they aim to present a past moment to the audience. However, these two arts use different techniques and approaches. Ottoman miniature art is an art created by drawing figurative and architectural elements on top of each other without a sense of perspective. Diorama art, on the other hand, focuses on three-dimensional and more realistic architectural structures and figures, usually on a ground or in areas created in museums. In this thesis, the diorama technique was used to make the Ottoman miniature art three-dimensional, and it was aimed to create a more realistic impression by creating models with materials used in contemporary ceramic art. By using these two techniques together, with the three-dimensional effect of ceramics, the subtleties of Ottoman miniatures and selected exemplary miniature works were presented with informative animations, and it was aimed to convey historical events and memories to the audience. Thanks to this method, it is aimed to create a cultural identity bridge as a historical heritage by revitalising the Ottoman miniature art today and to transfer the unique qualities of Ottoman miniature art to the next generations. A model work that combines Ottoman miniatures and diorama technique with contemporary ceramic art aims to transfer the cultural heritage from the past to the present to contemporary art. Keywords: Ottoman, Miniature, Diorama, Three Dimension, Ceramic.
