Abstract (EN)

In this thesis study prepared under the title of "Art Education in the Context of Interdisciplinary Interaction", the concept of interdisciplinarity is emphasised, the periodical contexts of avant-garde art movements, movements and styles in interdisciplinary interactions from 1900s to the present day are discussed, the reflections of these changes and developments in art on art education, interdisciplinary art education schools, models and researches are examined. In the medieval period, artistic and scientific activities were aimed to contribute to the basic art, and it was based on the conduct of interrelated studies. In the Renaissance period, Leonardo da Vinci presented the most prominent characteristics of interdisciplinary art. Although the questioning of boundaries in art has manifested itself sharply in avant-garde art movements, the interaction of disciplines with each other dates back to prehistory. The disciplines that became autonomous in modernism brought the interdisciplinary thought back to the agenda with the art concepts that started to form in the 20th century and the rapidly developing industry and technology. The transformations brought to the works by the collage technique, which emerged as a result of the experimental applications of the Synthetic Cubism art understanding, were considered as the first signs of interdisciplinary art, and with the ready-made objects put forward by Duchamp, a revolution against the traditional understanding of art took place. In these periods, the processes in which the type of material and form used by the artist while creating his work evolved into a conceptual dimension depending on what and how he wanted to explain have developed in art. In these art environments where pluralistic understandings is increasingly widespread, artists have adopted a synthesis approach by blending different techniques and cultures. As a matter of fact, the position of art also affects art education. When today's art education is analysed, it is seen that interdisciplinary studies on a national and international scale are increasing and their importance is emphasised. In this thesis study, in which the interaction of art fields with each other and the interaction of art with industry, technology and science fields are intensively examined, it is aimed to explain how the interdisciplinary approaches are reflected in art education and to convey the development process of interdisciplinary art education. Key Words: Interdisciplinary, Multidisciplinary, Transdisciplinary, Art Education, Interdisciplinary Art Education.
