Among these threeworks, Divanü Lügat-it-Türk which was worded by the aim of teachingTurkish to Araps, sticks out. This work, Divanü Lügat-it-Türk, areimportant for the following reasons: It throws a light on sound and gramerfeatures of this period, Turkish history, geography, folklore, mythology andfolk literature.In this study, I compared the great dictionary Divanü Lügat-it-Türk whichreflects the vocabulary of Turkic Dialects in XI. century, was completed byKâşgarlı Mahmud in 1074 and the vocabulary of Buddist Uighur Textes.By now, a lot of studies were done on Divanü Lügat-it-Türk. The last andbest study named Compendium of The Turkic Dialects on Divan was doneby Robert Dankoff and James Kelly. This study is the translation of Divanto English. This study which was published in 1982-1985 was formed as 3volume. The first and second volumes are the translation of Divan, the thirdvolume is index.In the first part of this study, Compendium of The Turkic Dialects istranslated to Turkish Turkey. In the second part of study, Divan and BuddistUighur Textes is compared as tableau. In addition to all these, it is writtenan extensive introduction.
