Evaluation of Diyanet Monthly Magazine in a sufi context

One of the responsibilities assigned to the Presidency of Religious Affairs by the law is to enlighten the society about religion. The Presidency fulfills this obligation according to the conditions of the time; It carries out its activities such as sermons, sermons, takrir lessons within the mosque, Quran courses, guidance teams, seminars, conferences and symposiums through written and visual media. The most comprehensive and important of these services is undoubtedly religious publications. Religious publications are divided into periodicals and printed publications. Printed religious publications are communication tools such as radio, TV, digital and social media. Periodical religious publications continue their periodical publishing activities as Diyanet Newspaper, Diyanet İlmi Magazine, Diyanet Children Magazine, Diyanet Monthly Magazine, Diyanet Family Magazine, Diyanet Arabic Science Magazine, Diyanet Cim Magazine, Diyanet Bayram Newspaper. In our study, Diyanet Monthly magazine, which was published in 1991, which is the continuation of Diyanet Newspaper, which started its publication in 1968, will be evaluated in the Sufi context between 1991 and 2022. Our study consists of an introduction and two parts. In the introduction section; General information was given regarding the subject, purpose and importance of the study. In the first part; Brief information was given about the founding purpose and duties of the Presidency of Religious Affairs, its mission in guidance activities and the general content of the magazine. In the second part, the Sufi content of 384 issues of the magazine between 1991 and 2022 was discussed. All 384 printed magazines were accessed from the Diyanet magazine archive. Within the scope of the study, the Sufi contents in the specified numbers were scanned and identified. Since the time scope of the study corresponds to a long period of 32 years, it has been divided into three separate parts by dividing them into 10-year sections. The number of articles written in the journal is 7525. 250 articles with Sufi themes and content that will be the subject of our study have been identified. These articles are divided into two separate sections. While General Sufism issues were examined in the first one, topics related to Sufis were discussed in the second one.
