Evaluation of the music of the Armenian society living in Diyarbakir in a cultural context

In this study, the evaluation of the music of the Armenian community living in Diyarbakır in the cultural context has been examined by considering the socio-cultural change process in the structure of the society. It is important in terms of presenting and archiving information about the reflections of the music and cultural interaction of the Armenian community in Diyarbakır in the past. It is thought that the historical background of the ancient Armenian people can be a contribution to the cultural analysis study on music practices in Diyarbakır. In the study, after giving information about the historical, religious, language and cultural life of the Armenian people in the world, studies on their life and distribution in the geography of Turkey are discussed. Based on this, an analysis was made on the cultural life and musical culture of the Armenian community living in Diyarbakır, which is the main part of the study. Therefore, music, one of the most important building blocks of societies, was discussed and the cultural traces left by this study in societies were emphasized. The musical practices that took place in the Armenian community living in Diyarbakır and its interaction with Turkish music were evaluated within the framework of ethnomusicology. In this context, the books, theses and articles were examined for the research. By using semi-structured interview technique in order to reach more specific information; Yervant Bostancı, Hayri Yoldaş, Dilek Küçüker and an expert named "K1", who did not want to be named, were interviewed.
