Abstract (EN)

In this study, the variability of the absorption coefficient values of the exhaust gas emission measurement of the diesel particulate filter in different kilometers of the diesel particulate filter in Euro 6, Euro 5 and some Euro 4 diesel vehicles, depending on the vehicle's mileage, engine condition and the absence of DPF, was investigated. Particulate matter in diesel particulate filters must be cleaned over time. Vehicles with diesel particulate filters perform the task of cleaning the soot in the filter by burning the soot in the filter, as passive regeneration and active regeneration, in order to prevent clogging of the diesel particulate filter. If the amount of soot to be cleaned exceeds the saturation 45 gram threshold, passive regeneration and DPF cleaning of active regeneration are not possible. Since the DPF cannot be cleaned, it must be replaced. In this study, the DPF, which could not be cleaned with passive regeneration and active regeneration, was removed from the exhaust system and cleaned with the help of a machine. It was observed that the emission rates decreased after the DPF cleaning by making a graphical comparison of the absorption coefficient values, which are the exhaust emission measurement information of the DPF before and after cleaning.
