Abstract (EN)

Notebook computers which though not suitable for ergonomic working environment are widely used on the table. In this study, compliance to working environment of the research assistants working in the Black Sea Technical University were examined in view of anthropometric. Anthropometric body measurements of Research Assistants and measurements of operating devices were determined to determine the anthropometric compliance of Research Assistants. Survey cunducted to get their views on the working environment. In the study, 209 Research Assistants using laptop computer were taken 13 anthropometric measures and 17 measurements in relation to operating devices. 13 questions related to the work environment and the 21 questions about the use of computers were asked. The data obtained from this study were evaluated using SPSS 13.0 software. Arithmetic average of the data obtained from the individuals (X), standard deviation (S), 5% and 95% values, the maximum and minimum values of the data related to the working environment were determined. In the study, determined dimensions of the work environment suitable for them using the anthropometric measurements of Research Assistants. Determined the table height is 74.68 cm and the chair height should be adjustable from 37 to 48.58 cm. 63,6% of Research Assistants complained about the depths of sitting on a chair and especially for women, sitting depth found to be a significant problem.
