Abstract (EN)
The experimental study to examine the effects of green walking on anthropometric measurements, blood lipids, disease perception, and quality of life of patients with myocardial infarction was completed with 30 green walking and 30 control groups who had a myocardial infarction. The data were gathered with the "Structured Patient Information Form", "Anthropometric Measurement Form", "Blood Lipids Measurement Form", "Short Form Illness Perception Scale", "Myocardial Infarction Dimensional Assessment Scale", "Green Walking Information Leaflet", "Green Walking Group Follow-Up Form" and "Control Group Follow-Up Form" between February-June 2022 in the Gümüşhane State Hospital and Gümüşhane Kelkit State Hospital. As an initiative, "The Green Walking Information Brochure" was given to the green walking group and this group was given a 50-minute green walk three days a week for 12 weeks. Green walking and control group patients were followed up for 12 weeks with "Phone Calls" and "Cardiology Outpatient Clinic Visits". At the end of twelve weeks, the "Anthropometric Measurement Form", "Blood Lipid Measurement Form", " Short Form Illness Perception Scale" and "Myocardial Infarction Dimensional Assessment Scale" were applied again to the green walking and control groups as a post-test. Data were evaluated with Chi-Square, Mann Whitney U Test, Wilcoxon Test, Friedman Test, Anova Test, Independent Sample t-Test, Fisher Freeman Halton Test, Fisher Exact Test, Greenhouse-Geisser test, Bonferroni test, Dependent Sample t-Test. It was found that the weight, body mass index, triglyceride, LDL, and total cholesterol levels of the patients in the green walking group decreased, while HDL levels increased (p<0.05). Again, it was determined that the green walking group had higher levels of positive reaction to the perception of disease (p<0.05), and that quality of life, insecurity, emotional reaction, dependency, drug side effects, and physical activity levels decreased, while drug side effects and diet levels increased (p<0.05).
