Determining the reasons for choosing natural gas energy: An application on Batman province

Natural gas, which is an increasingly important and strategic energy type, is used in businesses, industries and government institutions, especially in residential buildings. Coal and natural gas energy sources require the use of a cheaper and more environmentally friendly energy sources such as oil according to the world is increasing both in Turkey. The main purpose of this study is; To determine the factors affecting the natural gas energy preferences that have been used in Batman province since 2012. For this purpose, a questionnaire was applied to 412 households over 107,302 households, and statistical analyzes were carried out with the data obtained from the survey. As a result of the analysis, there was a significant difference on the basis of some variables such as neighborhood, age, education level, occupation and working status, while no significant difference was found on the basis of variables such as gender, date of construction of the houses and ownership status of the houses.
