Abstract (EN)

In addition to the advantages that foreign direct investments provide to the Turkish economy,the increase in short term foreıgn direct investments also has disadvantages due to the pollution it causeson the environment and people, as it increases carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.In this study, using data covering the periods 1990-2019 in Turkey,the effect of foreıgn direct investments on CO2 emissions is tride to be tested with the ARDL limit test in the study,while the effect of foreıgn direct investments on carbon emissions is positive and significant in the short term; No relationship was found between the variables in the long term.
