Abstract (EN)

The Eastern Mediterranean, which has not lost its geopolitical importance throughout history, gained more importance after the discovery of hydrocarbon reserves. The increasing need for energy after the industrial revolution has brought energy dependence for the continuation of the political and economic mechanism of the countries. Since this increased the interest in the region, which is rich in energy resources, at the regional and global level, it started the maritime jurisdiction problem of the riparian countries. The study is important in that it deals with the problem of sharing Maritime Jurisdiction, which emerged after the discovery of hydrocarbon energy resources in the Eastern Mediterranean, the attitudes and practices of the riparian countries in the context of international law, and the relationship with the energy policies of Turkey and Israel, which are two important actors in the region. offers. It is possible to say that the strategies of these two countries are effective in the position of other actors. With all these aspects, the study is also important because the roles of the parties to the problem in the region are examined in detail and it is a current issue.
