Abstract (EN)

With the energy discoveries made in the 2000s, the international dynamic of the Eastern Mediterranean region has gained a new dimension. With the emerging international conjuncture, it caused an interstate struggle. Thus, because of the increasing energy need in the international system, it created a new economy based competition environment among the actors. This competitive environment causes actors such as the GASC, Greece, Israel, Egypt, the EU and the United States to be in conflict with Turkey, which contradicts their own political practices, while leading to interest-oriented cooperation. Efforts by regional and global actors to leave Turkey alone in the region; problems occurring in maritime jurisdictions (EEZ) and arise under the name of East Med project. Turkey's alliance with the TRNC and Libya reveals its own cooperation mechanism with the bloc. In this study; the energy policies of the actors who try to benefit from the geopolitical and geostrategic elements of the region and these energy policies are evaluated from a realistic perspective. Turkey's Eastern Mediterranean policy is associated with Libya and the TRNC and the protection of its interests and sovereign rights are discussed in the struggle that comes to square in the region.
