Abstract (EN)
In this study, 20 different samples of non-wood forest products, such as leaves , fruits, flowers and roots of some species of Centuary Hypericum montbretii),Centuary (Hypericum bupleuroides), Gentian (Gentiana pyrenaica L.), Persimmon (Diospyros kaki), Raspberry(Rubus ideus), Blackthorn (Paliurus spina-christi Mill), Tarragon (Artemisia dracunculus L.) plant extracts which are used for medical purposes in Eastern Anatolia Region (Artvin, Trabzon, Bayburt and Giresun) is investigated in detail. Various assays have been used to evaluation of antioxidant capacity of herbal products. These assays include FRAP (ferric ion reducing antioxidant power), DPPH●(free radical), Analysis of total polyphenol, CUPRAC (Cupric Reducing Antioxidant Capacity) and Total flavonoids assay. According to the determination of antioxidant results, dry leave of Gentuary (Hypericum montbretii) (AKKY) plant (which is obtained from Artvin ) has the best antioxidant activity that was carried out in all analyzes (except analysis of total polyphenol). In accordance with analysis of total polyphenol, activity of purple flower of Gentian (Gentiana pyrenaica L.) (ACMÇ) plant (which is also obtained from Artvin)was measured at 31,303±0,274 mg GAE /g sample and thus ACMÇ plant has the highest antioxidant activity. On the other hand, dry stalk of Tarragon (Artemisia dracunculus L.) (BTS) and dry leave of Tarragon (BTKY) (which is obtained from Artvin ) were found to show low activity in almost all analyzes. Keywords: Gentuary, Gentian, Persimmon, Raspberry, Blackthorn, Tarragon, Antioxidant, Polyphenol, Flavonoid, DPPH, FRAP, CUPRAC.
