Abstract (EN)

Investigation of Rainfall and Flow Characteristics in Eastern Black Sea Region In this study rainfall and flow characteristics of Eastern Black Sea Region were discussed and appropriate explanations have been made for the results of the observations. Mostly illustrations of the Solaklı, Fırtına and İyidere basins were included and generalizations concerning to other basins were also made. Rainfall ratios utilized in this research were obtained from the General Directory of Meterology and the state Water Supply Administration (SWSA). Flow rates were taken from SWSA and the state Electric Reseach Administration. Relation between rainfalls and flows in the same basin were studied using correlations and regression equations. While the elevation was ascending, rainfall decreased but flows increased in springs with snow melting, besides violent rain caused to instantaneous increase on flows. In regions which have been exposed to orographic rains there is no important difference between Of and Hopa coast rains, but for mountainous this can't be discussed. It was determined that region exposed to flood and overflow especially snow on mountainous areas in basins all meterologic factor and rainfall have an effect on flows in spite of too much rains in winter. Hows became intense in May, June and partly July and also it was believed that between maximum flows there were three months in a year.
