Abstract (EN)
Satisfaction This study is a randomized controlled experiment designed to evaluate the effect of endorphin massage and dance applied by partners during labor on pain, birth satisfaction, postpartum comfort, and person-centered maternal care. The study group consisted of pregnant women who volunteered to participate in the study at Tekirdağ Çorlu District State Hospital's maternity unit between March 3rd, 2023, and May 1st, 2024. The data collection instruments used in the study included a descriptive information form consisting of sociodemographic-obstetric characteristics and questions about pain coping methods without medication prepared by the researchers based on literature guidelines; visual analogue scale; birth satisfaction scale; postpartum comfort scale; and person-centered maternal care scale. SPSS 24. software was used for data analysis. The data were evaluated at a confidence interval of 95%, (p<0.05) . The average age of the pregnant women included in the study ranged from 18 to 36 years old. It was determined that most participants had completed primary education and were homemakers, within the first five years of marriage. Their average income levels were identified as low to moderate. There was no significant difference between groups regarding sociodemographic characteristics (p>.05). Gestational weeks ranged from 36 to 40 weeks for participating women. It was found that most participants had planned pregnancies and had knowledge about pain-reducing methods. There was no significant difference between groups regarding experiencing distress during previous childbirths, receiving prenatal education or attending regular pregnancy check-ups (p>.05). The application of dance and endorphin massage had an effect on postpartum comfort with a significant increase observed in psychospiritual comfort levels. The application of dance and endorphin massage showed an effect on person-centered maternal care with higher scores observed for communication sub-dimension scores in massage group compared to dance group. The application of dance and endorphin masage had a positive effect on birth satisfaction with significantly higher satisfaction scores observed for dance group. The application of dance anda ndorphin masage significantly reduced mean pain scores experienced during labor.
