Abstract (EN)

In this paper, the case of Nagorno-Karabakh has been used to investigate the function of the Collective Security Treaty Organization in the resolution of frozen conflicts. It has been successful in defining and analyzing the issue, thus we can claim that the Nagorno-Karabakh example is a satisfactory example for the resolution of frozen conflicts. With the continuous issues between Azerbaijan and Armenia for over thirty years turning into war in 2020, the study emphasizes the role of collective groups, which are the parties' allies, employed in the settlement of this problem. It was emphasized that Armenia, one of the parties, was unable to receive the Collective Security Treaty Organization's support, which it believed could provide the most significant armed support, due to the fact that the war was still raging in Azerbaijan's internationally recognized territory and due to the role that this organization played in finding a resolution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The modeling of the shifting power dynamics in the region through neo-realist theory has adhered to the effects of the CSTO's attitudes in this conflict and other factors, despite the fact that NATO, the world's leading formation based on military defense cooperation, has demonstrated itself in many applied fields.
