Dr. Ali Naci Duyduk's life and his aktivities

Dr. Ali Naci Duyduk, whom Giresun city raised as an important person, was born in Giresun in 1893. He was a medical graduate of Haydarpaşa Medicine Faculty. He was appointed to Yildirim Armies as a medical lieutenant in World War I. During the years of National Struggle, he wrote against the supporters of Pontians and published the newspaper "Karadeniz". He was the deputy of Giresun in Erzurum Congress. Although he was a doctor by profession, he engaged in politics and sport apart from medicine. By 1950, Dr. Ali Naci Duyduk served as a government and municipality doctor and administered fiskobirlik business. He played an active role in non-govermental organizations such as Giresun Community Centre, Giresun branch of Turkish Red Crescent, the membership of Giresun Chamber of Commerce, the district head of Bulancak Republican People's Party. Society for the Protection of Children and sport clubs like Hilalspor, Aksu Youth and Giresunspor. He took Office in provincial administration board of Republican People's Party. At the end of 1940's, he presided Democrat Party in Giresun. Between the years 1950 and 1960, he was a member of parliament from Democrat Party for Giresun. He was tried in Yassıada in 27th May 1960 coup but was acquitted of charges. He was elected as mayor of Giresun with Justice Party between 1968 and 1973. He wrote poetry, essays and think pieces. He died in Giresun in 1980.
