Dr. Ferruh Niyazi Ayoğlu and press life (1888-1963)

Dr. Ferruh Niyazi Ayoğlu was born in 1888 in Elmalı. His family is from Elmalı and he is the youngest son of a wealthy family dealing with trade. After his primary education in Elmalı, he completed his high school education, which he started in İzmir, in Lesbos. He started his higher education at Mekteb-i Tıbbiye in 1907. During his education at the School of Medicine, he met politics and became a member of the Ottoman Democrat Party. He published articles in various newspapers on the ideas defended by the Ottoman Democrat Party. He was a reserve officer while he was a student in the Balkan Wars and after his discharge he graduated from Mekteb-i Tıbbiye in 1913. After Kütayha- Simav Government Office, he participated in World War- I in Iran, Iraq and Syria fronts and returned to Istanbul after the signing of the Armistice of Mudros. During the National Struggle, he worked as the Directorate of Health in various provinces of Anatolia such as Kastamonu, Sivas and Kayseri. After he could not be included in the MPs list, he worked as a freelance physician and after a while he took the position of chief executive in Antalya newspaper and published the newspaper Akdeniz, which he owns and undertakes the chief executive officer. With the closure of Akdeniz newspaper, he returned to the profession of medicine and served as the Head of Malaria Control in various provinces.
