Abstract (EN)
Drama lesson is an important skill lesson that supports the individual and social development of students. Identifying and resolving the problems that prevent drama lessons to be taught effectively and efficiently in schools provides a pleasant and effective learning environment for both students and teachers. In this study, according to the opinions of students, teachers, school administrators, parents, and drama experts, the benefits of drama lessons in schools and the problems in the implementation process were determined. The research was designed according to the case study method. For this, interviews were held with 20 teachers who conduct drama lessons in 5 secondary schools in the center of Bolu, 23 students who experienced the lesson, parents of the same students; 7 administrators of the schools implementing the course, and 12 experts who have worked in the field of drama for more than ten years. The content of the interviews was analyzed. According to the data obtained, it was determined that the drama course improves the cognitive, affective, and social skills of the students and their life skills. These lessons also support teachers' communication skills and professional development. Also, the drama lesson contributes to the school culture, important days and weeks. Despite all these benefits, the drama lesson has the following problems in the implementation process: lack of specialist teachers, lack of workshops in schools, no allocation from the school budget, lack of regulations, lack of teaching tools, and lack of drama informatics network. Because of these problems, the lessons are taught with a different understanding for each teacher; The gains in the curriculum cannot be fully implemented and the efficiency of the lesson decreases. For the drama lesson to be more efficient, it is necessary to train teachers in the field of drama, to establish drama workshops in schools, to make a drama workshop regulation, to allocate a budget for the lesson, to increase the quality of the curriculum, to prepare guidebooks for teachers and to create a drama information network.
