Abstract (EN)

Pesticides have caused toxic effects on many species in the environment. Unconscious and uncontrolled used of pesticideshas many negative effects on human health and the environment. Trifluralin (TRF) is a herbicide widely forhave weeds under control, such as cotton and soybeans used in many places. Particularly It has caused ecotoxia, toxicity and mutagenity, in aquatic organism. Aloe vera has growed in tropics and non-tropical zone and itshas a natural therapeutic, anti-inflammation, anti-hepatitis and chemopreventive and a good economic potential. Drosophila melanogaster has an easily worked and preferred model organism in laboratory conditions. In this thesis study, lifespan, larval toxicity and comet assay were performed on D. melanogaster which was applied in different concentrations of TRF (0.1 mM) and Aloe vera (2.5%, 5% and 10%). The lifespan assay continued until the last fly died. Flies were numbered and collected after 15 days in the larval toxicity assay. Potantial DNA damage in the D. Melanogasters measured with the comet assay. In thisstudy results, Male and females flies had increased to lifespan in groups with Aloe vera. As a survival rate of larva had decreased TRF concentrations, it had increased at the highest Aloe vera concentration in the larval toxicity assay. It was observed that as DNA damage was increased TRF gruops, it was decreased in all Aloe vera gruops. As a result, Aloe vera can be used as a conservator and decreased the harmful effects of TRF. Aloe vera gel has considered to have an important role for human health and vitality.
