Abstract (EN)

With the economic policies implemented after the 1980s and in the globalizing world by all means, international trade has gradually increased. There are two aspects of the bussinesses that the countries doing with each other, which are called external trade, as export and import. Export means the sale of a country's production of goods and services in foreign markets, while import means the purchase of goods and services produced in foreign markets by the country. In this respect, exports provide foreign exchange inflows to the country, while imports cause foreign exchange outflows from the country. The fact that a country exports more than imports provides it with a foreign trade surplus, which reflects positively on the economic development of the country. Countries implement different programs to support exports, which contribute positively to economic growth. In the context of supporting exports in Turkey, the state exempts foreign exchange earning activities from KKDF and BSMV in loans extended through commercial banks, and applies investment incentives for foreign exchange earning activities. Türk Eximbank (Turkish Export Credit Bank A.Ş.), which was established in 1987 to support exports and has similar features to institutions such as Coface, Euler-Hermes, SACE, Atradius ECGD, occupies an important place in developed countries. Turk Eximbank, which meets the export financing, guarantee and insurance needs of companies at affordable costs, has also increased in parallel with the development of Turkish exports. In this study; Foreign trade, exports and the contribution of Türk Eximbank to exports after 2009 were examined. The study consists of four parts. In the first part; Basic information about external trade is given. In the second part; The role of banks in foreign trade is discussed. In the third part; Information was given about the products and services of Türk Eximbank. In the fourth and last part, the contribution of Turkish Eximbank loans to Turkish exports after 2009 is evaluated. The relationship between the Eximbank loans received by the logistics, metals, wholesale trade and services sectors and Turkish exports has been examined by Pearson Analysis.
