Abstract (EN)
Our thesis titled international criminal tribunals and global justice from the perspective of world-systems analysis, consists of three main sections. In our thesis, the process from Nuremberg tribunals to the Rome Statute has been examined with a critical perspective of the world-systems analysis. In this context, the theoretical framework of world-systems analysis is explained in the first chapter. In this section, where the basic concepts of world-systems analysis are discussed, opinions about the historical origins of the world-system explained in which we live in. Then, an assessment was made of who are the forces that continue hegemony in the world-system today. The second chapter contains a historical assessment of the formation of international law and international criminal law. International Military Tribunal (Nuremberg), International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda were examined as part of this assessment. In the last chapter, the historical conditions that constituted the Rome Statute and the formation of the International Criminal Court are included. In particular, the United States' position towards the International Criminal Court has been evaluated. Finally, the International Criminal Court was assessed for its success in achieving global justice. In the conclusion section, a summary of the inferences made during the study is presented and the results and opinions for the whole thesis are given.
