Abstract (EN)
Structures with different dynamic behaviour is having different oscillation period during earthquakes. These structures built as adjacent to each other, they collide with and causing serious damage, if buildings are not separated properly from each other. Also not designed to be symmetrical the load bearing systems of structures in the vertical and horizontal plane and sudden changes of torsional, stiffness and strength on vertical plane, may also cause severe damage to the structures. Researches carried out it have been demonstrated that, most of the damage caused from these collisions, in after the earthquake. In this study, adjacent structures modelled with SAP2000, its dynamic behaviour were investigated during collisions which have vertical irregularities called in Earthquake Code. It was analysed displacements and pounding forces that may occur considering the El Centro (1940) earthquake. The results were compared with the structures which have not any irregularities and it is studied to determine the destructive effects of seismic pounding on structures which have vertical irregularities.
