Abstract (EN)
With superior properties light weight complex hydrides are attractive alternative to conventional hydrogen storage systems. Hydrolysis kinetics of complex hydrides, could be improved by catalyst. Co-B based catalysts are produced from various cobalt and boron source by six kind of methods and then structural properties of Co-B based catalysts are characterized. Generating H2 from NaBH4, member of light weight complex hydrides, two catalyst prepared with sol-gel and co-precipitation techniques were selected. The optimum hydrolysis reaction conditions are determined. The catalytic hydrolysis reaction order is zero order for useage of catalysts prepared by sol-gel catalyst (122.7 m2/g) activation energy is 51.83 kJ/mol and impregnation catalyst (8.46 m2/g) is 75.07 kJ/mol. Consequently, the Co-B based catalyst, synthesis by sol-gel method with CoCl2 and B2O3 sources, is suggested for catalytic NaBH4 hydrolysis.
