Abstract (EN)

Different departments (nuclear medicine, radiation oncology, radiology), in the 3 different hospitals that are in Aydın (Adnan Menderes University Research Hospital, Aydın Public Hospital and Atatürk Public Hospital), 27 professional volunteers was exposed to low dozes of ionizing radiation and the other 27 normal volunteers has not been exposed to the low dozes of ionizing radiation, and the research has been done with exfoliative buccal micronuclius test on the genotoxic effects of the low dozes of ionizing radiation in their buccal epithelial cells. Among the types of damages observed in their buccal epithelial cells (cell with micronucleus, differentiated cell, nuclear bud, binucleated, condensed chromatin, karyorrhectic, karyolytic and pyknotic) the most observed types of damage consists on cells with micronucleus. Acording to the datas obtained analysing the 3 different hospital results; the micronucleus that was formed in professionals who was exposed to the low dozes of ionizing radiation, compared to other cell anormalies, the highest rate was obtained in the proffesionals of the radiology department of Aydın Public Hospitl followed by ADÜ UAH nuclear medicine and the oncology radiation department of Atatürk Public Hospital. The difference between the datas obtained from the professionales and obtained from the other volunteers were considered statistically significant (p<0.05). Analyzing the results of female and male professionals in the hospital, it has been seen that the gender of professional thet were exposed to the low dozes ionizing radiation has effected the small differencies. Comparing these results with the controlling group's result the differencies has been statistically significant (p<0.05).
