Özet (EN)

An unalloyed AISI 1010 low-carbon steel is a type of cheap steels which is not very crucial in terms of production of parts used for machine components, has a low strength and a reasonably high ductility and easy founded steel in market. Wear and corrosion resistances of AISI 1010 steel are very poor and insufficient. Appropriate surface coating processes must be applied to such steels to increase the service lifetime, to improve corrosion and especially its abrasion resistances. In this experimental study; using lifetimes of the refracter blend mixer blades coated by wolfram carbid (in plate form) and chromium carbid layer (in filling welding form) which prepared from AISI 1010 steel in accordance with industrial conditions have been studied by subjecting them both to abrasive wear in the laboratory conditions and making them run under their own industrial medium for a specific period of time. Under laboratory conditions hardness of worn surfaces of specimens mounted on abrasive test machine and original specimens were measured and surfaces of specimens were examined by using SEM (Scanning electron microscopy) analysis techniques. Hence, the facts of which coating surface is more resistant and how long is the lifetime of the coating surface have been ascertained.
