Abstract (EN)

Having evolved into different forms including verbal and written, storytelling ongoing from past to present has continued its existence in time. Technological developments achieved in every aspect of life have led to the emergence of the digital storytelling form, which is the last point into which storytelling has evolved. Present thesis has focused on digital storytelling through Instagram, which is one of the popular social media platforms, within the framework of affect theory. The performance, perception of privacy, self-construction and self-presentation of the woman flight attendants, samples of the study, within their professional and private lives have been examined. Since flight attendant is a profession, for which the professionals are expected to be careful about their appearance and attitudes and in this regards, it is required to be meticulous about the presentation of self, flight attendants have been selected as the samples of the thesis. The reason why especially the woman flight attendants have been taken into the central is because, the expression areas of women have expanded compared to offline life by means of social media platforms and in accordance with this they are able to present their personal performances in a clearer and easier way. The data collected from the participants through the questionnaire and the data collected by observing their Instagram profiles have been evaluated by using categorical content analysis. The aim of the findings gathered as the result of the study is to contribute the literature by establishing a link between affect theory, digital storytelling and self-presentation.
