Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between emotion inhibition schema, emotion regulation skills, and somatization. The study sample consisted of 207 female and 71 male participants, all aged 18 and above. The study utilized the 'Sociodemographic Characteristics and Information Form, Emotion Regulation Skills Scale, Somatic Emotional Conflict Scale, and Young Schema Questionnaire Short Form 3' for data collection. The obtained data were analyzed using the SPSS-25 program, employing t-tests and one-way ANOVA. In cases of non-homogeneous variances, the 't-statistic for unequal variances' and the 'Welch test' were utilized. The research found a significant relationship between emotion regulation skills and somatization, as well as emotion suppression schema. However, no relationship was found between somatization and emotion suppression schema. When examining the participants' demographic information, it was observed that somatization was more prevalent among females. Furthermore, emotion suppression schema was found to be more prevalent in males compared to females. According to the findings, there was no difference based on education level or age.
