The relationship between emotional labor and psychological well-being: A study on health workers

The aim of the study is to examine the relationship between emotional labor and psychological well-being in the context of healthcare professionals. Apart from this, it is to examine these variables according to demographic factors. The sample of the study consists of 202 healthcare workers in Gümüşhane province. Data were collected from the participants by survey method. Personal Information Form, Emotional Labor Scale and Warwick-Edinburg Mental Well-Being Scale were used in the study. Reliability analysis, frequency analysis, normality test, t test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), correlation and regression analyzes were used to analyze the data. It was concluded that the level of emotional labor and psychological well-being did not differ depending on age, gender, educational status and position. It was concluded that there is no significant relationship between emotional labor and psychological well-being and that the independent variable, emotional labor, has no effect on the dependent variable, psychological well-being.
