Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to reveal the effects of emotional and social competencies on individual work outcomes. The research sampling consists of employees (n=451) in hospitality businesses in Nevsehir Province. Data acquired from research sampling has been analyzed by means of Confirmatory Factor Analysis and the Multiple Regression Analysis to show the effects of emotional and social competencies on individual work outcomes including affective commitment, innovative work behavior, job satisfaction and task performance. According to the research findings, it determined that while the dimension of self-awareness of emotional and social competencies had a positive effect on job satisfaction, in contrast to expectations the dimension of self-awareness of emotional and social competencies had negatively affected the affective commitment. In addition to, it revealed that the self-management dimension of emotional and social competencies had a positive effect on job satisfaction, affective commitment and the innovative work behavior. Similarly, it stated that the dimension of the relationship management of emotional and social competencies positively influenced the job satisfaction, the innovative work behavior and task performance. Furthermore, it established that the dimension of social awareness of emotional and social competencies had a positive effect on task performance. Finally, it was emphasized that the study has some limitations, together with some implementation-oriented suggestions of ESCI for executives in hospitality businesses and suggestions about the research to be done in similar topics in the future were presented.
