Abstract (EN)
Nowadays, there has been a considerable increase in the amount of solid wastes together with the use of packaging materials in every field and economic development. In the disposal of solid wastes, regular storage is used as the most appropriate method for installation and operation costs. The characterization of wastes from landfill sites should be determined and evaluated accordingly. In addition, one of the most important outputs of landfills is the depot gas which is formed as a result of anaerobic breakdown of organic wastes. Methane and carbon dioxide are very important in storage gases and cause global climate changes and health problems. For this reason, the collection of tank gases and their conversion to electrical energy will be an environmentalist approach for our world and an economic development for our country. In this study, the operation of landfills, waste characterization and formation of methane gas were investigated. Kocaeli Solaklar landfill and the last two years data were used as the study area.
