Abstract (EN)

Anger control is an important factor affecting individuals' ability to cope with stress, and in this context, regular exercise and religiosity have the potential to improve both physical and mental health. The aim of this study was to examine the effects of regular exercise habits on religiosity and anger control in university students. The sample of the study consisted of 509 university students, 263 males and 246 females. Personal information questionnaire, religious life scale and trait anger and anger style scale were used in the data collection process. In the data analysis process, frequency analysis was performed first; in this step, the basic distribution and frequency of the data were examined. Then, it was determined that the data were normally distributed. In statistical analysis, independent sample t-test was used to evaluate the differences between groups. Linear relationships were examined with Pearson Correlation analysis, and the effects of variables were evaluated with regression analysis. In the findings section, participants who exercised regularly had lower anger scores than those who did not exercise. A weak negative relationship was found between exercise and anger. A very weak negative relationship was observed between religiosity and anger. The results of the study reveal that students who exercise regularly have lower anger levels and higher anger control skills. In conclusion, this study reveals the positive effects of regular exercise and religiosity on anger control of university students. While exercise reduces anger levels, religiosity helps to manage anger by providing spiritual support. The combination of exercise and religiosity may contribute to a more balanced life by supporting both physical and psychological health of individuals. Future research should more comprehensively examine the long-term consequences of these effects and their impact on various demographic groups.
