Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study to examine the mental toughness and personality traits of e-sports players playing electronic sports games at universities. In order to determine the mental toughness of the e-athletes participating in the study, the Mental Toughness Inventory in Sports adapted to Turkish by Altıntaş and Bayar (2015) and the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire-Revised Abridged Form (EKA-GGK) adapted into Turkish by Karancı, Dirik and Yorulmaz (2007). A demographic information form was applied to the participants to see their variables. The research was analyzed using the Pearson Product Moments Correlation coefficient. As a result of the study, there was a positive and significant relationship between persistence, which is one of the sub-dimensions of mental toughness, and the trust sub-dimension of personality traits, while a negative significant relationship was found between neuroticism, a sub-dimension of personality traits, and control. In addition, a positive significant relationship was found between psychoticism, which is a sub-dimension of personality, and both trust and control, which are sub-dimensions of Mental Toughness.
