Abstract (EN)
Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of synthesis and characterization of vitamin E-modified nanoparticles on testicular torsion and detorsion in rats and to compare the results. Material and Method: In this study, 24 Wistar Albino rats obtained from the Experimental Animals Application and Research Center (DEHAM) of Ondokuz Mayıs University were used. The rats were divided into 6 groups as Control, Vitamin E, Vitamin E+Torsion, Nano material, Torsion, Nano material+Torsion groups. In vitamin E and nanomaterial groups, peroral administration was performed for one week before testicular torsion. After 2 hours of torsion detorsion, testicular tissues and blood samples were taken to analyze the results. Results: According to the data, there was a significant difference between right- left testicular Johnsen scores in Group 2 (p=0.02). Severe impairment of spermatogenesis was detected in Group 4, the torsion group, and there was a significant difference between Group 4 and Group 1 (p< 0.001). Johnsen score was significantly increased in Group 6 (p<0.0001). There was a significant difference in TOS levels between Groups 2 and 3 (p<0.01) and OSI levels were significantly different between the two groups (p=0.01). There was no statistically significant difference in TAS levels between the groups (p>0.05). In terms of tubule diameter in the right testis, a difference approaching significance was observed in Group 4 (p= 0.06). Conclusions: The results of our study show that selenium nanoparticles modified with vitamin E significantly reduce histological and oxidative damage due to testicular torsion.
