Evaluation of science course materials on EBA platform according to educational software evaluation criteria

Abstract (EN)
This research aims to evaluate the science course materials in the Education Information Network by science teachers according to educational software criteria. For this purpose, science teachers' thoughts on science course materials on the EBA platform were also examined in terms of various variables.The universe of this research consists of 123 science teachers working in secondary school institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in the province of Rize in the first term of the 2021-2022 academic year. The sample of the universe was determined by simple random sampling, which is one of the random sampling methods. In the research, descriptive survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used. As a data collection tool, the "Educational Software Evaluation Scale" developed by Ateş (2011), whose reliability was tested as 0.81, was used.In addition, the "Personal Information Form" developed by the researchers was applied in order to determine the demographic variables of the participants. Educational Software Evaluation Scaleconsisting of 50 items,contains six categories such as educational features (11 items), visual design features (5 items), multimedia features (7 items), content (7 items), help (5 items), installation and usage features (15 items).The dataobtained were analyzed by transferring them to the SPSS program. According to the opinions of science teachers, it was concluded that EBA science course materials were at a good level according to educational software criteria. It is thought that this study is important in that it will guide the experts in the development and improvement studies of the Education Information Network in terms of features such as content, multimedia, educational and visual features, and usability.It is also thought that the results of the present study will make a significant contribution to the literature in terms of enabling the materials in EBA to be made more qualified and effective. It is foreseen that the benefit of the students from the platform will increase thanks to the objective evaluation of the EBA by the teachers and the appropriate arrangements to be made.
