Abstract (EN)
Aim: To examine the relationship between midwives perception of their managers leadership behaviors and their work motivation levels. Materials and Methods: The research is a descriptive and correlational research. The research was conducted online between 15.08.2024-15.04.2025 with midwives who actively work in public and private institutions in Mersin province and meet the inclusion criteria. Data were collected using the Introductory Information Form, Leadership Behavior Scale, and Multidimensional Work Motivation Scale. Data were analyzed with the SPSS for Windows 22 package program. In the analysis of the data, numbers, percentages, minimum and maximum values, mean and standard deviation, Independent Groups t Test, Variance Analysis, LSD and Dunnet C tests in advanced analysis, Pearson Correlation Analysis and regression analysis were used. The significance level was accepted as p<0.05. Findings: 48.7% of the midwives are 41 and over, 73.4% are married, 46.5% have less income than expenses, 69.2% have a bachelor's degree, and 97.2% are public employees. The midwives received 129.01±36.18 points from the total Leadership Behavior Scale and 77.88±12.89 points from the total Multidimensional Work Motivation Scale. There is a statistically significant positive and low-level relationship between the total score of the Multidimensional Work Motivation Scale and the total scores of the Leadership Behavior Scale (p<0.05). A 1-unit increase in the Multidimensional Work Motivation score causes a 0.687-unit increase in the Leadership Behavior score. Conclusion: Midwives' managers' perceptions of leadership behavior are high and their work motivation is moderate. As midwives' multidimensional work motivation levels increase, their perceptions of leadership behavior also increase. Keywords: Midwife, Work, Leadership, Motivation, Manager.
