Abstract (EN)

The research was carried out to determine the effect of parent-adolescent attachment on the risky behavior of the adolescent. Between April and May 2019, 483 students attending the public high schools affiliated to the Directorate of National Education in Gümüşhane city center participated in this study. The research data were collected by introducing questionnaire form, parent-child attachment scale and risky behavior scales face to face interview technique. Descriptive statistics, t test and Spearman correlation test were used in independent groups. The average age of adolescents participating in the study was 16.78±0.04 years. It was determined that most of the mothers of adolescents graduated from high school and above, and their fathers graduated from high school and above. The mean point of adolescent pareltal bonding was 119.4±12.6, the mean point of attachment to mother was 58.71±9.65 and the mean score of attachment to father was 60.69±9.11. Adolescents' risk behaviors scale total score average 143.8±22.3, sub-dimensions antisocial behavior score average 25.86±6.19, alcohol use score average 32.87±5.25, smoking score average 24.15±7.31, suicidal tendency mean score was 13.65±3.43, nutritional habits mean score was 15.92±4.63, and school dropout mean score was 31.41±5.09 (p> 0.05). Parent-adolescent attachment and risky behaviors were found to be less common in adolescents who developed positively. The differences between the mother's education and the income perception of the adolescent were found to be statistically significant (p <0.05). As a result, nurses should organize preventive and preventive trainings for adolescents and their families in schools. Implementation should be done to improve the positive attachment to the families of adolescents who show risky behavior.
